The Rotaract Club of Johor Bahru (RACJB), the Education Welfare Research Fund and Pan Century Edible Oil joined forced recently to aid the flood victims in Ulu Tiram and Kota Tinggi.
We donated more than RM 11,000 worth of groceries, mattresses and other necessities to 230 familiies in Relief centers in two areas. Kampung Oren of Ulu Tiram and Kampung Tembioh of Kota Tinggi were the main affected areas which we focused. Our club will be helping the affected families from time to time until things return to normal.
During the drive club members also had an opportunity to drive around Kota Tinggi Town viewing the aftermath of the flood. Viewing a house in Kampung Tembioh, we realized that water level actually rose up to 3 meter high.
Besides food, mattresses, blanket and core necessities, the victims really requires items such as gas stoves to facilitate cooking. This aid program ended about 5pm and it was another successful event conducted by RACJB.
