Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference in Sydney, Australia

The 7th Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference will be hosted by Rotaract District 9680 from 25 to 28 November 2010 in beautiful Sydney, Australia!!!

This prestigious international event will bring together Rotaractors from across the Asia Pacific region and beyond to discuss common issues affecting Rotaract, meet other Rotaractors from the region and experience the wonders of Sydney.

With sandy beaches, perfect weather, unique wildlife, a fantastic harbour, pristine landscapes and fun loving Australians, Sydney is an iconic location to be host to one of the world's premiere Rotaract conferences.

The conference will be located at the site of the OlympicGames in 2000, Sydney's Olympic Park. The majority of the conference will take place at Sydney Olympic Park Novotel, right in the heart of the Olympic precinct.

As well the traditionally large APRRC delegations from South-East Asia and East Asia which have made APRRC the conference that it is today, we would like to warmly extend the invitation to Rotaractors from all around the world. Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, around the Pacific, Europe, Africa, and North and South America are welcome to attend!

APRRC Sydney presents Rotaract members with the ideal opportunity to visit one of the worlds most popular travel destinations while broadening your horizons. Don't miss this amazing chance to attend what will be one of the most memorable experiences Rotaract will offer you.

Community service in Kampung Makmur, Plentong - Deepavali Day

A few days before Deepavali Day, President Kiroshika and the rest of rotaractors went to Kampung Plentong to visit a family and celebrate Deepavali. The kind rotaractors gave clothes, biscuits and other food supplies to Rajan and his family of 18 children and wife. I must mention in here the kind soul who donated to this cause is none other than Rotary Club of Johor Bahru President Angamuthu Rajoo. Happy Deepavali to all rotaractors!!!!

Charity Car Wash Project

This is the first fundraising project RACJB organized for the year. It was held in KP Auto Service Centre in Taman Rinting, Seri Alam. It was done in the name of the charity. Rotaractors worked hard to wash and vacuum the car to raise funds for Rotaract Club of Johor Bahru. The funds will be used for community service. Special note of appreciation must given to KP Auto Service Centre and Mr Vella.

Doulos trip RACJB

President Kiroshika made a trip on the cruise ship Doulos with PP Dinesh Shankar and Cecily and her mum and little Jahnvie. Doulos was at Pasir Gudang Port for one month.

Saleng Home Painting Project & Community Service

It was project organized by Rotary Club of Johor Bahru to paint the home of the special children in Saleng, Kulai. Saleng Home for the physically and mentally challenged children is about 35 minutes drive from Johor Bahru city centre. The rotaractors assembled in McD Skudai in the morning and joined the Rotarians and other clubs like JCI International and Doulos crew which consists of students from all over the world.

We left for Saleng. When we reached Saleng Home, quickly we got into gear and wasted no time in putting our energy in helping the Rotarians in doing the paintwork on the premises. Meanwhile the Doulos crew students were entertaining the children as clowns and singing to them beautiful gospel songs and playing games. At noon we had lunch prepared by the home cooks.

Community service in Kampung Plentong Makmur visit

On a beautiful Saturday, President Kiroshika led the rotaractors to a place called Kampung Makmur by the Plentong river. “Makmur” is a malay word and it means prosperous but the village is far from being prosperous in my mind. The houses were in poor conditions and there is a lack of basic amenities like water and electricity. One such family is Rajan and his wife and his 18 children prior to July 2009 were living in a small house made of woodplanks and zinc plates.
Life changed for the better for Rajan and his family when a good Samaritan by the name Muthu reported his plight to Rotary Club of Johor Bahru. The rest is history as we know it because on 26th of July 2009 the house was restored and refurbished as a community service project of the Rotary Club of Johor Bahru under the stewardship of Rotary President Angamuthu Rajoo. We visited the home of Rajan and gave the family food and clothes donated by fellow rotaractors. We also visited a Malay family and they complained about water supply and they had to rely on the well or nearby stream to get water just like the Rajans .

TFA Painting Project

This was the first project after the installation. It was Merdeka Day, yesssss.. 31 August 2009. Selamat Hari Merdeka everyone!!!! This was a project organized by Uncle Raj and Auntie Sham in collaboration with RACJB. Rotaractors like Peggie Lee, President Kiroshika, Pridave, Elango, Munisvaran, Dhashini, Sutha and staff of R2R Diversified Sdn Bhd were busy painting the exteriors of Temple of Fine Arts and cleaning up the place. The paint tins were sponsored by R2R Diversified Sdn Bhd.
